Team Color MC skins?
Can anyone offer advice? I am working on a patchset that changes the team colors from red/blue to colors like orange, yellow, green, etc. But I got to the MC textures, and i am not sure how to edit the skin, as halo tints the white bitmap of mc. possibly a hex value somewhere to change the tinting values? I don't know.

I'v found almost everything else, but I'm searching for the hex similar to the blue (0000FF) and red (FF0000) but I can't find the ones I want. Does anyone know for a fact that this is done in the map? or default.xbe. I can't find it in either, but it's gotta be in there somewhere. MC armor color is the last thing in my way.

I recently have been trying to use the tags found for the flags. The flag tag has two transparency shaders that use two different bitmaps, and I thought if I could somehow use that to make MC use two different bitmaps, I might be able to use that, but so far, i can't turn the transparency shader into a model shader. I thought I could use some of the code and make it work, but not yet. Does this seem like a good thing to try? So far, i can make the two teams look the same, but not different yet. keep me posted if anyone of you has an idea.

what do you mean hardcoded? Like it can't be changed at all? That sounds kinda hard to believe, but I don't know, maybe it is. It seems like it should be just a line or two somewhere. And by the way, this isn't really for hpc. I am trying to release this first for xbox. and if it is hardcoded into the game(default.xbe) I think it's possible. I just need to know where to start looking.

I sent him a pm, so hopefully he'll write back.
Yeah I don't want to give up, but I'm getting tired of changing all these lines of hexcode hoping that I stumble accross the armor color. I've changed close to 20 questionable lines of code, but none of them control what I wanted. I did find where the color of target, flag, etc. onscreen icons were controlled. so that was cool.

No, not really. The elites have seven(I believe) shaders for their armor. MC only has one. I don't know how the ones for the elites work, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work on MC. I already looked into this from advice from someone else on halo-scene.com, but thanks for the ideas. I am 90% sure that this tinting property is within the shader and won't be changable until a shader editor comes out.
And Walka wrote me back and claims to not know how to do this. He said he didn't have time to write anything, so maybe he does know but doesn't have time to explain it. believe me, this is so frusterating, asking a lot of people and getting the same answer, "I don't know how, but you can figure it out." And this time, unless anyone else has suggestions, i think team colors is going on the back burner to let me find some other inspiring project. But be sure to write any info/ideas if you find any.
