where do u get 3ds max

i have searched on gmax but i cant find it. is it free. i have gmax 1.2 but i dont know how to inport or export to files that i can put into halo and i dont even know how to input them into halo.
so u see i am sort of stuck without ur help

if i were u i would use gmax and chimp because the 3dsmax trial has a tile limit and gmax has basicly the same mapmaping functions

u know 3ds max do u know how it runs out. does it start on ur comp. i can image my drive u see and all my halo files are on another drive. would that work
edit:what is the difference in 3ds mx and gmax.

gmax is free and 3dsmax is well over $3000 , u make out the difference now

ahh. i see now. there doesnt seem to be much of a difference though. a lot for a serious gammer. btw is there like a huge manual i could print out (dont worry about paper or ink) but is there.
