Programs and Tools needed:
  • Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paint Shop Pro
  • The plug-in to edit .DDS files: Get the DXT_TOOLS.ZIP here. (608kb)
Step 1: Assuming you have Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, you will need to unzip the DXT_TOOLS.ZIP. I suggest making a separate folder to unzip all the contents to. Call it something like "DDS". After you unzip it to a folder, look in it for something called "DDS.8BI". That is the plug-in. You need to copy that plug-in into your Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro PlugIns folder. This will allow you to edit .DDS files with the program. Those of you using Photoshop, the plug-in goes in your "Formats" folder located inside your PlugIns folder. If you
