This is the first time ive made a gun. It didnt take me very long to make, but im still working on it. I just need some help and suggestions.

To answer your question, yes you can make it less boxy by using the chamfer tool. But, you have to remember pistols need operable slides, need ejection ports, and need clips and a hole in the grip for the clip. Pistols are hard to do. I would start over and get oldfaq to help you, he's amazing.

Well i have a clip but what is an operable slide ad ejection port? Is there a way i can add them or do i have to start over.

Don't think that way Caboose. The only way you're going to get lots of nicely modeled guns is learning how to model well yourself. Learning and perfecting your modeling takes practise. It doesn't even matter if he did the exact same gun, its nothing compared to the satisfaction of making it yourself.
Also, the slide is the top part of the gun that slides back every time it is shot. It will also slide all the way back (and stay there) when the magazine has been expended. I used the word 'operable' referring to it as a seperate object from the original weapon, ready for animation. The ejection port is the object blocking the hole in the slide, while in firing position.
