Re: Car discussion.
Items of interest:
Rick Wagoner no longer CEO of GM.
Formula 1.
Discuss.
I want to see BMW do fairly well in F1. They have really capable drivers, but in Australia, like I've seen a lot of times, they get crap for luck. Kubica getting hit by that bugger Vettel 3 laps from the flag? Come on now.
But I am also surprised that Brawn is doing so well. Their vehicle is really letting Button throw some of his weight into the ring.

What about Chrysler's new partnership with Fiat? Do you think it will hasten Fiat's re-entry into the American market?shadowkhas wrote:Items of interest:

Re: Car discussion.
I would like to see Chrysler's retail channels become an aid for Fiat/Alfa Romeo in the US.
Sure, Alfa isn't a huge target market, but they're interesting cars, as are Fiats (500, Panda). They could easily snag some fans of European cars, and who knows, maybe build up a wider base.

Use Google if you're curious.
Re: Car discussion.
I am happy with my American piece of garbage.

Yes - I took that photo. Yes - it is my car. No, it is not from an advertisement. No, I did not do any heavy post-processing on it.
Not to imply I wouldn't be happier with say another American piece of garbage such as a C5 Corvette. A 2001+ BMW M5/2001+ E55 AMG wouldn't be too bad either.
And I hate to say it, but most American cars nowadays are just barely coming close to a level of luxury and comfort that Mercedes had in 1997. A Mustang is hardly a luxury car, especially if you compare a 2010 Mustang to a 2010 Lexus. I'm sure even a 2010 IS-F would be more of a luxury car than the 2010 Mustang. I've had the pleasure to take care of and drive several luxury vehicles ranging from 1991 models to 2002, and they are all a league of their own in terms of comfort. Mustang will never come close to true luxury-car status.
As far as performance, I've gotten to drive a C6 Corvette for a week all over central Arizona, a 1969 Nova with a 425+HP 383 stroker and a TH350 (three times or so), and gotten to ride in various high performance cars ranging from SL500's to 450HP 4th gen Camaro's running slicks, skinnies, and a huge torque converter stall (feels like your face is going to peel off on launch!) to Auto-X monsters like a JDM b16b lsd-trans swapped '99 Civic coupe with full suspension, weight reduction, and race wheels/tires. Gotten to sit in an SLR McLaren once and pop the hood. That was pretty cool. If anything else cool comes up I'll be sure to post it here.

Re: Car discussion.
If I could have the choice of any American car since '90, I would definitely go for the last-gen WS6 Firebirds. Any of the last generation ones look pretty cool, in my opinion.

I like that photo ZexGX! Though I like it for the backdrop >_> Not implying your car is bad, I just like those shots.
Re: Car discussion.
It's ok. I like your comment despite the obvious implications. I will keep my opinion of your opinion of my taste to myself and all other people who own cars that actually look good.ScottyGEE wrote:I like that photo ZexGX!
