How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
Re: How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
this seems easy to follow, but the only thing I don't understand is, what do you resign the new ID to? Does you're hard drive have an ID that the usermap/gametype/film needs to sync with? If so, how do you find out the hard drive id?
When we say keep offensive material out of your sig, we mean it.

Re: How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
if the usermap if from your HDD and you are putting back on your HDD then the ID's are the same. if you are sending to other people then just get them to resign to their ID's.
Re: How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
ok, that clears up some things, but what about my ID? Do I select the ID from one of my maps, and use the same ID on a foriegn map?

well, open a forge map from your HDD they have your ID's in them, save them and then whenever you resign a map it will resign to those ID's.

I love learning about modding. I hope I'll one day be an expert.Rogue_Modder wrote:well, open a forge map from your HDD they have your ID's in them, save them and then whenever you resign a map it will resign to those ID's.

Re: How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
Ok, I've done this 3 times now and still the same. I'm sorry to be so stupid after this whole thing with Veegie, I have a lot of respect for him doing this by hand because I can't even do it with this tool. Here's what I do:
I created a map with 32 frag grenades on it and saved it as CLONEZ
I plug my HDD straight into my computer via a SATA cable
I open Xplorer360 and navigate to my the content folder, my Profile ID, and the Halo 3 folder which is 4D5307E6, then open up 00000001
I extract my usermap file, which I determine by the date the file was last modified
I open the usermap in Forge 2.5
I navigate to equip and then the frag grenade entry
I change the frag grenade to bipd/masterchief
I click save
I open the map in Halomods Contain Tool
I click "settings" and enter my gamertag for the name and my profile ID for the ID and click add, then I enter my 360 HDD's name as the device name and copy the device ID into the ID field and click add
I close and reopen the container tool, then open my map back up
I select my gamertag and device from the list at the bottom and click resign to new console
I transfer the save back to the console using Xplorer360
I reassemble my HDD and put it back on my Xbox
I start my xbox and look at the Halo 3 entry under Games in Memory management
my map says "corrupted"...
And it doesn't show up in Halo 3 either.
I followed the instructions to the letter and it does not work for me. What am I doing wrong?

Re: How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
I don't know what you mean by unbanned, but there is a file called kv.bin in the same directory as the container tool.
On a side note, don't worry about this anymore. My usual need to find out why everything doesn't work isn't applying here. I figured out that I can use CONcept to resign and rehash in addition to resigning in Forge2.5, so now my maps work.

Re: How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
The answer was no, you didn't have an unbanned keyvault. When NXE came out, several of the public keyvaults were banned.

Re: How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
Well then no, I don't. How the hell was I supposed to know that? How is the keyvault in CONcept unbanned? I've used both v.1 and v.3 CONcept and both work. Maybe the Container Tool should be updated to have an unbanned keyvault?
Don't flame me, I don't know enough about this to make a difference, which is another reason why I'm asking this and why it would help to be a little forgiving of my lack of Halo 3 modding knowledge.

I wasn't flaming, I was just explaining what he was asking.

Ok, I didn't mean to sound like a dick, there's just been bad blood between us if you remember. I don't want that to happen again.
Anyway, like I said, I got it to work by resigning and rehashing with CONcept.

All's well that ends well.

Doc didn't have the means or need to support it.

No, sorry. No one will put them in their File Shares so you need to get some sort of transfer device.xtwitchz wrote:i have a question... i dont have the device to transfer the maps from xbox to computer... is there anyway i can download other peoples?? im very new to this. please help
