Mythic Extract and Reinput
Mythic Extract and Reinput
I was messing around on foundry, when someone joined my game. They were explaining something about download history, and it hit me.
If someone were to download the mythic map pack, would it be possible to extract them from the HD to your computer? And if you get a new HD, put it back? If it's illegal, please ignore this. I just want to know for future reference. (Like if I need to backup files, mod files, etc)
Also, if the maps are ON YOUR HARDDRIVE, wouldn't it be easy to mod the .maps? Like just extract them, copy a backup, mod, and put them back? (I would recomend, if this is possible, only modding look/theme. The skies, mist, bitmaps, etc)

When we say keep offensive material out of your sig, we mean it.
Re: Mythic Extract and Reinput
The maps are in a LIVE container file. This file cannot be resigned for retail use. It will only work on one console/storage device, you can't just copy it. For the same reason, you cannot mod it, because you cannot resign the container they are in. It is not possible to do either.

Re: Mythic Extract and Reinput
you couldnt just resign the files with the hm container tool? like resign them to your GT and HDD?
Re: Mythic Extract and Reinput
That resigns CON files. It cannot (And no other tool ever created can) resign LIVE container formats for retail.
It cannot be done.

My god.
You don't contribute anything to this site, and you keep trying to give yourself importance when you deserve none, nor have you earned any.
Tural absolutely destroyed everything you said. It was most likely removed due to the fact that it was off-topic and was essentially an unnecessary argument.
You were wrong. You got destroyed. Deal with it and stop acting like a child.

We removed it because of Tural's reaction to absolute ignorance. Like making a first grader read and comprehend Nietzsche.

I'm assuming that Detchro is a first-grader, and Tural's writing is a complicated language.
Regardless, as Detchro's post is gone, feel free to delete my post.

Re: Mythic Extract and Reinput
There is one way to get maps onto a new harddrive, just sign in on your Xbox Live account on another harddrive goto the marketplace then re-download the files. If you paid for it, it should not charge you twice.

but then wont the maps only load on the account you downloaded it from? it wont load on any other accounts on that hdd
Re: Mythic Extract and Reinput
Correct, and a previous dashboard exploit that allowed them to be used on any profile does not work with NXE anymore.

Re: Mythic Extract and Reinput
is there a way to get passed that or did Microsoft finally block that completely?
Re: Mythic Extract and Reinput
I believe it is signed to a specific profile ID, and unless you can resign a LIVE container, it will stay that way.
Re: Mythic Extract and Reinput
You can use the new maps by recovering an account and re-downloading them. Once their downloaded, sign your account in aswell as the one you used to download the Maps, Start Halo 3 and load each of the Maps, then sign out. Then you can use them on your account only if a person loads them for you.

They're signed to the profile's PUID and the console's ID.Tural wrote:I believe it is signed to a specific profile ID, and unless you can resign a LIVE container, it will stay that way.
