Re: Dreams and Reality
he never said anything about being a prophet.Tural wrote:Dreams are produced by your brain, obviously, and as such, can be indicative of happenings in your life. A subconscious set of circumstances being portrayed. There's not much to it, your mind manifests an illusion based upon things you know, things it knows. There's nothing supernatural or whatever here, nothing really remarkable. Common traits among subjects of studies can be correlated to the dreams recalled, just as could be done with a study on anything. It's not like the people who produce the dream analyses are reading minds, they (Well, the non-fraudulent ones) are correlating events to dreams as they occur to people in their studies. Nothing '*** crazy' about it, really.
Number four is a statistical anomaly, an outlier. You didn't predict the future. If you considered how many times you hear 'heart attack,' or 'car crash,' or other similar event in context and then someone you know experiences something similar, you'd probably find a correlation quite often. It's mere coincidence. You're not a prophet.
Detox was an articulate young man.
Your dad took you out past your bed time and lied to your mother so that she would not be concerned that he had involved you in a car accident. Your parents are big fat liars.
I actually have no idea, nor do I care to delve into it.
though many believe (including me) that God (don't comment for religious disagreements please, I'm simply stating what i know) actually uses our
dreams to send us messages and such.
not much of a prophet sense, but just a way to communicate, or help with coping.
and the mind was always known for having amazing, and strange capabilities,
im taking a Psych class right now, most of what we learn has more than
explained the questions and ideas that i have.

yeah hallucinations tend to happen with 3+ days of no sleep in my experince things started leaving trails of their motions and walls grew silly stringHPDarkness wrote:I think dreams are strange. You can experience something in a dream, then experience it in real conscious state years later. I'm not saying they can show you the future, but it is pretty interesting. My Psychology teacher told us there was this radio dj a while back. He didn't sleep for a few days, and the lack of sleep caused his dreams to appear to him while in the studio. Supposedly he saw a particle of dust turn into a tiny dinosaur, and when he opened a file cabinet he thought fire came out. Not sure if it's true though.
Re: Dreams and Reality
I usually have two kinds of dreams.
Dreams that are interpretative of what's been on my mind, and dreams that are interpretative of what's physically going on around me while I am sleeping (either hearing or feeling).
I think that this is all dreams are, really.

Re: Dreams and Reality
Well I had a wierd dream today. I was in a basketball game with a ton of people from old schools i went to, and I was horrible at it, and Gordon Ramsey was reffing and coaching, and cursing at everyone. Then my girlfriend runs up to me and says she has to break up with me because basketball players are unsexy, then runs off to David Beckham. So I get a gun from out of no where and follow her and put a bullet between beckham's eyes. She then takes me back. Am i seeing the future or something?
Re: Dreams and Reality
Probably.
Re: Dreams and Reality
Actually ZexGX, that could greatly explain a number of things in my situation, possibly parents coming home and speaking of it, etc. My mind soaking it up and producing imagery for it.
Re: Dreams and Reality
Last night.. Last night produced a good dream. A fine production indeed based heavily off the anxieties that have been troubling me over the last few weeks. Only this one had a happy ending.

Re: Dreams and Reality
It's just cause your brain puts everything together that you know, and produces things that you think would be physic like, but really it's obvious if you could put all the clues together yourself.

meh, I never think my dreams have a meaning... Then again my dreams, when i can remember them, tend to be random and jump around all over the place. I also tend to see a lot of people that i've never met/don't exist.

I was on vacation in Florida, and had a dream about us getting Doughnuts in the groceries.
The next day I find the exact same doughnuts in the cupboard for breakfast, I ate them.

I had a dream where I did my laundry. I woke up later that day and then did my laundry.
I think it was Jesus telling me to do it.

Until then, we can only speculate.
