For future reference, post your WIP topics in the Halo Modding Discussion forums.
As for the pmi tree tutorial, just follow any regular PMI tutorial, and just substitute whatever the tutorial is PMI'ing with a tree.

Re: WIP: Forest-winder
This skin could be A LOT less green.
Re: WIP: Forest-winder
That, and it's stretched too much. If there's any way you can reduce the stretching so there will be more detail, you should definitely go for it.
You could put that texture on top of a rocky texture in photoshop and put it on darken, overlay, soft light, etc. Just mess with those, maybe erase some of the rock, so it's not too green.
Hell, I would really suggest that you just throw out that texture all-together, and find a grassy/plant texture and do my second suggestion with that. Your results would come out a lot better.

Re: WIP: Forest-winder
what would be cool is if you could add water to where the ice is. im not sure if theres away to do that.....
I swear that i've seen some one do it.

Why is it that when you tell a person that there are 400 billion stars in the sky and he'll believe you, tell him a bench is wet and he has to touch it?
Re: WIP: Forest-winder
It was probably in CE.. I'm not sure if it's possible in PC alone, as you'd have to make a new water plane.

Re: WIP: Forest-winder
ahh that makes more sense. since thats out the window, just skin the same as the ground and you would have to find a way to change the collision on the ice, just driving around on grass and then spin out with ice shards shooting out of the sides, so ya just what JK and Mars said, more grass texture and less green, and a few more trees!
Edit: could you skin the ice to look like water and change the collisions to splash water when you hit the ice?

Re: WIP: Forest-winder
The water wouldn't have any animations, it would just be flat like the ice.

Re: WIP: Forest-winder (updated)
Ok, i see you made it look like mud, but did you make it where a warthog will run over it like mud or is it still ice and slide in it with the ice shards coming out?

Re: WIP: Forest-winder (updated)
he has a point, but couldn't he just edit the shards to be brown?

Re: WIP: Forest-winder (updated)
yes he could but you would be sliding around and well it doesn't seem to realistic to slid in mud 30ft, I go Mudding a lot and well you don't really slide around a lot. I just think it would be more realistic to swap the ice impacts with dirt or swamp, that way it would be like, when you walk over it, all squishey and stuff and to do that i guess use HHT
