Experimental Photography

Post by HPDarkness »

I spent a whole day in Boston, I put the telescopic lens on and started experimenting with all kinds of manual options, I even waved the camera around jumped, zoomed in all the way, put the ISO really high/really low, hit the camera really hard, etc. then I edited them all in Lightroom.

I took around 600 photos, but these are my favorites.

My personal favorites out of these are 1 and 2.

So what are your personal favorites out of the bunch, and why?
Critique please, I don't care if it's good or bad.

Canon Rebel XTi, with a 70-300mm telephoto lens.
The last image was taken with a 5mp Kodak EasyShare.

I wanted to take more photos, but I was shooting at the highest resolution setting possible, so I ran out of space.

Nice camera. I got a Canon Rebel XS, same lens too! Except mine is a Sigma 70-300 AF/MF (No Image Stabilization) and the AF motor is shot. Ah well, still a nice lens for being 15 years old.

I really like the last three images, really nice composition. 1-3 would be better, but there's just too much noise! Seems like you set the ISO really high, but the shutter speed really low. (Like 800 ISO and 1/2000, shutter speed.) Still, some nice photographs. Wonder if I should post mine or not..

That's why it's experimental! =D no rules! Plus I love noisy photos, they always remind me of something out of Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, or just really strange images. I think the noise makes it what it is, without the noise it would be a boring old photo.
