Ads [SUGGESTION]
I believe in my humble opinion that the sponsored ads that are appearing in-line with the posts suck. Alot.
I believe they would be better suited below the main banner.
Opinions?

Re: Ads [SUGGESTION]
Removing them fixes the issues at the bottom of the page (it's just one of many ways to fix that, the other involves fixing the malformed XHTML).
Also, quite a few of us use AdBlock, so all we see is a big annoying box that says "Sponsored Message". That's more annoying than an actual ad.

Re: Ads [SUGGESTION]
Hello Win,
I can understand that you dislike the banners, but they are a necessary evil. I shelved out money for a server out of my own pocket. The ads on HaloMods don't make very much money right now. When they were up top, they made even less. Also, they would not look very pretty from a design point of view in my opinion. I know they're annoying, but his is one thing that you'll have to accept, unfortunately.

In that case, I suggest you help out by disabling your adblocker for HaloMods ; )FleetAdmiralBacon wrote:Removing them fixes the issues at the bottom of the page (it's just one of many ways to fix that, the other involves fixing the malformed XHTML).

Re: Ads [SUGGESTION]
Well you lost my willingness to click on ads if I have to put up with them in the middle of posts. I previously clicked on the ads while they were up top, but I have a large dislike of in-line ads.

Re: Ads [SUGGESTION]
By having them in the way of topics, you'd think people would be more willing to click on them.
However having them come directly after the first post not only proves that people are even less willing to click them, but more likely to just plainly block them altogether.
Having them at the bottom of topics and under or to the right of the banner are fine since they don't intrude like the one that comes directly after the first post.

Re: Ads [SUGGESTION]
I am not suggesting you reduce ads, simply do not have them disrupt the flow of a thread. Have one at the top of the page, and another at the bottom of the page is perfectly fine: but when it starts to disrupt the flow of a topic its just bothersome and ends up being blocked.

Re: Ads [SUGGESTION]
Ug. Can I/we at least fix the current set up now, and then we can discuss changing it later?

There are ads?
Maybe we should all switch to firefox and install ad-block plus!
lol, opened IE7 and saw the ads:

See here. It's an XHTML formatting fix and has nothing to do with the actual ads, just the code used to generate them.WaeV wrote:Halo lotion? Lololol.
