Ah, very nice. Thanks. I can't wait to get Vista back on my computer. I absolutely love Windows 7, but it's just more of a comfortable feeling having a stable OS on your system. Especially with my version of Windows 7 being ... uh, different.

How do you turn on Aero? Changing the theme does nothing and I have the latest graphic driver.

Should be right click desktop>Personalization, you can figure out the rest. If it's not there you didn't install display drivers properly or something.

I installed a beta graphic driver and it seems to work now. So far, everything seems smooth. Let's see how well it runs when I put all of my programs on it. :)

Excuse the double post, but has anyone gotten AIM to work? I have tried the 6.9 beta and 6.8, but when I sign it, it closes and comes up with an error. :?

The only version of AIM that doesn't work for me is AIMPro... and that's only on the x64 version.

Did you install a "slim" version of it?

I installed the full everything x64 edition, as well as x32 on another computer and everything works perfectly fine.

Slim AIM or Windows 7? I downloaded the official Windows 7 32bit ISO from the links on your post and I'm not aware of a "slim" version of AIM.

What I will do is use AIM Pro for now and wait until the Release Candidate in April. I will get a DVD burner then.

You should use AIM Pro anyways... it's so much better.

I like it, but it doesn't log IMs. :(

Also, my desktop:

My review on Windows 7:

Windows 7, in it's beta state, is a smooth OS to use, but I have noticed a few flaws that are possible bugs. I had trouble installing and using a few key programs, but I ended up finding away around each problem. I don't notice any significant startup changes. It actually starts up slower because the Dell boot screen doesn't seem to like the OS. I have noticed shutdown improvements, though. I love the new task bar and thew new Paint and Wordpad UI. Visual Studio looks great on Windws 7. :) Overall, it's a good OS. Better than Vista that's for sure. And I'm using it as my primary OS. 8/10

The main problem for me has been windows having trouble finding plug in and play drivers. My iPod, my Mouse both failed to find the necessary stuff and I had to go into device manager to reinitialise them and find the right stuff (because the driver finder would not come up again strangely)
