I'm not sure whether he resigned or was demoted, but I don't like it. At all. It's like the new staff was randomly picked because they're good at certain things. However, those certain things don't include being good at moderating. :/WaeV wrote:It's really weird being on an equal level with Tural.

Re: The New HaloMods -- Likes/Dislikes?
Excuse me? What do you know about how I pick my staff. I've worked with these people for a long time. I know exactly what they're capable of and who should be in which position. What is it with this 'deserving' 'power'. I pick moderators because they do a good job moderating, not because they 'deserve power'. That is an old halomods philosophy that I intend to defuse. I believe that is also what's causing so much resistance from the staff.-DeToX- wrote:And Moderators are called Moderators because they moderate...
My point is you can choose anyone to be a moderator and they might not deserve that power, like you already offered from what I gathered from I_F's post.
I can understand if they develop but to have power like that just because they can develop, and you BARELY ever talked to them, if some at all.. Shows how you pick your staff..

Re: The New HaloMods -- Likes/Dislikes?
I helped found this site with Grenadiac. I set up the first phpBB boards here. I set up your files forums. On top of that, I'm a very capable administrator.FleetAdmiralBacon wrote:I just want to know how someone who hasn't been active in two years suddenly becomes top dog in one day.
Re: The New HaloMods -- Likes/Dislikes?
I don't see everyone's problem with the 'staff'
The staff haven't changed, with the exception of some leaving... which was their choice, not ours.
The dev team, well 3/5 are or were staff, fully capable ones. The other one knows what he's doing from modHalo, and Anthony has shown more than enough capabilities.
So that breaks it down to, you guys being pissed Anthony and Phil are on the dev team. (Which at current has no extra powers to the staff)

That wasn't my point, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with you being the admin, I just want to know how this went down such that one minute you're questioning why I_F would leave, and the next you're his replacement.SourceGuy wrote:I helped found this site with Grenadiac. That was a pathetic excuse of an explanation.Geo wrote:I don't see everyone's problem with the 'staff'

It doesn't matter if someone was staff prior.. Doesn't mean they should have the power they do now. Anthony's my friend. I wouldn't be mad directly at him and Phil about something. I think the entire fact of how it all went down is rediculous. I assumed Dev Team also had more power based off the hierarchy SG posted in the Staff forums saying the Dev Team keeps staff inline...
Also sure you pick your people right.. That's why SHOUT came to me asking if there was ANYONE I knew that does PHP. Just shows that you definately know how to pick your people... Seeing as Anyone could've been on the dev team if they knew PHP.

Re: The New HaloMods -- Likes/Dislikes?
So people that were staff before, shouldn't have staff powers now? You've lost me.-DeToX- wrote:It doesn't matter if someone was staff prior.. Doesn't mean they should have the power they do now.

As in I don't see them deserving of Dev Team... But whatever you know, you're definately the most deserving person of Administrator Geo, which explains why your so defensive over this.Geo wrote:So people that were staff before, shouldn't have staff powers now? Re: The New HaloMods -- Likes/Dislikes?
While I'd hope knowing PHP would be at least be a requirement for the dev team, I see no way in which it's the only factor. If knowing PHP was all it took, I'd have been chosen.

Re: The New HaloMods -- Likes/Dislikes?
Seriously, I'm about to go to the house of everyone here and kill you all. WHO CARES ABOUT A FRICKING RANK. If anything, it should be a burden, a responsibility, not a privilege. I could see enjoying it after doing it for a while, but really, saying Geo doesn't deserve a position like that is nothing more than an opinion about something that really does not matter that much at all. You guys are blowing this way out of proportion.

1. to merit, be qualified for, or have a claim to (reward, assistance, punishment, etc.) because of actions, qualities, or situation: to deserve exile; to deserve charity; a theory that deserves consideration.
–verb (used without object)
2. to be worthy of, qualified for, or have a claim to reward, punishment, recompense, etc.: to reward him as he deserves; an idea deserving of study.
Who says some people don't deserve their job..? Possibly because they don't qualify for it. Though I told you I'm gonna stop so this is my last post just to answer your question.
And yes it is an opinion.
But that's not even my basis for all I'm saying. I'm saying the changes made and the way the new admin is handling halomods is out of control.
