It can open UI.map, but it doesn't for alot of people. It didn't for me, so i did a bit of tweaking with the HMT app code, and got it to work. it's been 2 years since those days, though; for me at least.
sorry I did not read the rules yet lol and thanks but Another quick question I downloaded a map and it makes my pistol shoot at the same rate as the assault rifle so will it affect there life like an assault rifle or just like a pistol since they dont have it?
it depends on the host. if you join their game, it will be glitchy on your screen and very laggy, but to them it will look normal. if you're the one hosting the lobby, they will load your map, but will not be able to see the effects, so it will lag a bit for them. its like a trade basically.
Brilliant tutorial, but i'v had a small problem that i can't seem to get round.
When importing the ghost into beavercreek, i do everything as said, and when it comes to using spark edit, and when i click the "swap drop down box"
There should be the ghost available to swap with the scenery item i selected, but there isn't. I've imported it correctly and done everything right. What's wrong?
OK, well I've still got the same problem even after this long, long time. I still can't open the maps in HMT. Its version 3.5 and no matter what map I choose, its the same exact problem. "Not a valid Halo map"
So, er....WTF?! And I have no idea about anything to do with coding, so I'm not about to mess with the app code without knowing what I'm doing.

There's a few programs... Gimp, Paint.net, you could use microsoft paint with the right program, but I really don't suggest that. Your best bet would probably be Gimp, but make sure you get a .dds plugin for it.
