Dont you think if it would be that easy someone would try it ?
And even, we cant resign normal .map files.
I didnt try a look on the images (too lazy to put my HDD to my PC), but I think that they´re in an PIRS or LIVE container which cant be resigned and will never be able without the private key.

As stated, it is still impossible, and likely always will be, to resign map files. The workaround to this is modifying the executable to run maps that aren't resigned, and doing so requires the ability to run unsigned code. With them running off the hard drive, we are no closer to being able to do this, in fact, it would probably be harder to do now than it was before.doogie1012 wrote:Will we easily be able to mod actual maps now that we can get the game to run off the HDD? Or does it do a comparison between the disc and the installed version?

What's with some older 360s being able to run Linux then?Tural wrote:As stated, it is still impossible, and likely always will be, to resign map files. Um, because they have older, exploitable firmware. What does that have to do with what I said? I never even said anything like that. He asked about an NXE feature. No retail console upgraded to NXE can run Linux, or any unsigned code, at this current time. I never said it has always been impossible to run unsigned code, and I never said that exploits were never made. I am specifically referring to Halo 3, and since Halo 3 has been out, console firmware has been too recent to exploit like that. What you're asking about has nothing to do with anything we're talking about.

Yeah, sorry. That wasn't what I meant. When you said you need a modified executable to run unsigned maps, I took it as you can't do that on a retail console. My questions was supposed to be "So could older 360s run unisgned maps with the modded .xbe?" Which, you're right, has nothing to do with the NXE feature.

Ok, I found a nasty little bug and I want to know if it could gettin fixed by modding the film.
Its about big films in Halo 3.
It looks like if a film is longer than 30 minutes all the Armor data gets lost.
I have about 5 examples on my box and want to know if it could be fixed by changing "something".

Things get buggy with films with large file sizes. I don't thing there is a simple way to explain it... well, not from me at least.xI_V3n93ance_Ix wrote:Ok, I found a nasty little bug and I want to know if it could gettin fixed by modding the film.

Anyways, I have a question on my own? Is the position of the Aegis Fate stored in the sandtrap usermaps? Would I be able to create a mod where is has disappeared, in the same way one can remove shield doors?

Those who can't play, mod.
And those who can't mod, mod PC.
