If its on the right, it will detract more attention from the center of the screen where the player should be looking. I think that left in general looks better.

I tried a lot of stuff awhile back when I first found how to make a health meter.
I think the best an coolest way to do it would be to completely remove all reticles, and have health be half a circle and shield the other half, or maybe some other wacky design.

I just could not get used to the other meter i made. I settled on this design. IMO, the health meter needs some more work, and then I'll start posting some weapon pics :).

Woooosh. Gives a 1.5 second burst which can allow the vehicle to "climb" things and clear large gaps.

Demonic. I don't like the effect in the 1st picture. but everything else looks awesome. Great Idea.

It's a time lapse. (¬_¬)
The first image is when I got a first working setup.
The second image is when I had it balanced out and made the HUD elements.
The last two pictures is what it looks like now.

Screen shots build up since when HM goes down, it's down for like a week so I posted a bunch at once.

Is that actual lighting of MGS2? Can't really tell what is making the glow there...

But really cool. Doing these kinds of things must be fun.
