personally i would get a gaming PC, but then again i'm not really in to instruments too much so i really can't make a proper decision for you since i don't really want drums, like you do.

edit: that and my current computer sucks and is in desperate need of a replacement, probably unlike your's

I suggest a better psu then the one that came with your case before anyways. You probably wanna cross fire some really good 4850's, or good 4870's. A 750 watt psu, A ASUS P5Q-Deluxe mobo, and a Q6600 or if you have the money a Q9300.
EDIT: Do you seriously need 8 gigs of ram...

I already have a drumset. crappy at most, but I think I'm going to go with the computer. Remember, I play 2 other instruments. I'm not on my computer all the time.
