You want to get an alienware?

An alienware????????

My PC has almost the same specs and it costed 1300 when I bought it one year ago.

Again, what scottygee says, build your own. You will save, a lot.

Yeah, but Tommy Lee sings too. Bit of a difference

Plus he's uh...rather "gifted" according to the Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson

I think I may build my own computer. I already have a 5 feet high full stack bass amp, and a nice bass. I also play guitar, and on top of that, I play drums. So if chicks wanted to date me, it would have happened already.

Building a PC is worth the effort, and you can definitely handle it.

This seems rediculous to me.

Definately the drums. A computer over drums? Aren't you on a computer now? Just stick with it.. Learn to do something productive.

Music is awesome. If you can play the music you like, it's even better.

I think he should get the drums too, but plenty of productive things can be done on a computer, and he already has other instruments he likes.. I mean, I do plan to make a career in Graphic Design. That said, you could just do like me and build your own set out Tree Bark and Sod. Horse hair for the covers.

Lower the price you spend on the PC by building it instead, and use the money you saved to buy the drum set stuff.

I don't think he has that much money. A decent new PC runs at least $500 not including display, keyboard and mouse.

I know music is awesome. I currently play 3 instruments.

Code: Select all

Stats:
 Bass:
  Guitar: Squire P-Bass
   Extra: No good stuff :S
  Guitar: MusicMan Stingray
Extra: Pre-amp, double humbucker, MusicMan Tone
Amp: Mesa Boogie Big Block 750
   Watts: 750
  Cabinet: 4x10 Ampeg cab
   Watts: 650
  Cabinet: 1x15 Ampeg cab (sub)
   Watts: 450 (I believe)

 Guitar:
Guitar: Squire Strat (I fail to remember more)
  Guitar: Some Acoustic one.
Amp: Some Fender beginners amp that is dieing out on me.
Watts: 38 (That's pretty loud for a guitar, although that's not much compared to others.)

 Drums:
  Drumset: Premier
  Cymbals: 1 Ride
  Extra: Some other stuff...
So trust me, I know music is awesome. I just can't decide. The answers here are, "Get the computer! It's cool!", or, "Get the drums so you don't look like a nerd!". I guess those are good reasons to get one or the other, but meh...

Aumaan Anubis, that is a good suggestion. I may just do that. Seeing as my budget is somewhere around that Alienware price, so if I do save a lot of money by building a computer, I guess I could go both ways. I am considering buying the parts with one of my friends who knows a lot about the hardware.

If you do decide to build a PC, I recommend newegg 100%.

Well, I want to build a gaming rig. I want to play a lot of the modern games, such as COD4, Halo 2 Vista (even though a year old), etc. Pretty much the high-end games. So far I've found this. And as I keep looking, I keep moving more toward newegg.

Case: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... =TC3J-2383
Price: $119.99
Hard Drive: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... &CatId=139
Price: $109.99
RAM: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6820146785
Price: $128.49 x2
Sound Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6829132007 (Reviews are weird.)
Price: $135.99

Total: 622.95
Alienware: 1699.99
Money Saved: 1077.04

I'm still looking for a motherboard, graphics card, cpu, and other parts to a computer. (I'm having a mind block or a brain fart right now.)

Edit: Just found a cheaper case. Plus it looks like something alienware would use.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811146025
Price: $79.99

Sound cards shouldn't be so expensive. I think mine was like 29.99.

The "cheaper" case you found doesn't include a power supply, as the first one does.

1TB Hard drive is a little much.
I'd suggest buying a 400/500Gb now, then installing another one later one, after the prices continue to plummet. Because I highly doubt that you're going to be using 1TB of your computer even in the first year you have it.

on a side note, if you change your mind about the case be sure it has 120mm fans or bigger still. The smaller the size the louder they are.

Ok, I'll look for a cheaper one. I just want a good sound setup.

Yeah, I've noticed that. I'm trying to find a nice looking case that has a power supply and USB2.0 ports. I think I should go with USB2.0

Again, I agree. I'll look for a 400-500gb hd.

@ rockymods, I'll keep that in mind. My current computer I use for gaming (Dell Dimension 8200) is so loud.
