I like the change of the storyline; being an all powerful mutant thing was kind of boring. But I love this game. It's fun that I have to sneak around to get anything done because everyone in Africa wants me dead. Also, I've always loved the Far Cry map editors. I wish Halo's map editor was more like Far Cry's. I think Noobraska is a pretty cool state. eh grows corn and doesn't afraid of anythng.

This game is so win.
Except I had to kill these dudes in the middle of a desert, and I accidentally blew my car up in the process. I worked it out to be about a 20min run back to anything good, so I just hunted Zebra for ages. I tried riding one back, it didn't work.
Is there any dangerous wildlife in the game?

I've seriously only seen one animal in the entire game so far. A single, solitary wildebeest.

As of yet...No. I have heard that they are working on that though. Also riding a zebra would be too awesome. The engine would explode.I think they did a good job with animals to a degree. If they see car they run away into you... just like real life >_>.Geo wrote:This game is so win.

Thank science. This is one of those overrated mediocre games that get way too much praise. Driving sections are unneeded, it just lengthens the game and brings about more frustration than fun. I never wanted malaria. The game may be could to come up with a few strategies, but all in all there are only a few different ones. After my PC crashed when going through some town, I never wanted to open the game again.Danke wrote:I played this game a lot a few weeks ago. It got really repetitive and after I had seen every weapon, there wasn't much to do.
The graphics are amazing, and the way you can use your own strategies to take on a mission is ok. Its just too repetitive, and has a lot more faults with the gameplay than good points.
IMO

wat
Oh yeah, everyone else who ever got Malaria did want it.
Get a better PC
I think it should be more like GTA in the sense that missions are kinda batched close together, and you visit new areas later in the game rather than giving you all that freedom straight away and make you travel from one of the map to the other every mission.

There should be larger herds, though. And the two larger quadrupeds have a tendency to sit down when they die, rather than fall over.INSANEdrive wrote:I think they did a good job with animals to a degree. If they see car they run away into you... just like real life >_>.
The game is very fun overall, but I expected more vehicles. Far Cry always had great vehicle combat; FC2 seems to take the focus off of high-octane vehicle chases, and focuses on long, slow walks. It's next to impossible to find the one air vehicle-- the hang glider -- and when you do, you can't go very far. There needs to be some sort of powered flight. And fast travel.
Also, there is next to no variety. Once you have seen one convoy, you've seen them all. You stop doing the missions for the fun of playing the game, and start to just soldier through everything for the diamonds and weapons.

well, i tried to play the game, but i got nothin'. no video, that is. just a black screen. i decide i'll try out the benchmark tool to see if there's a setting i can use to see anything, and measure up my rig.
800x600, everything unnecessary off, max framerate 17fps. still don't see anything, but i hear sound.
800x600. same as last test but minus AI, to see how limiting my single core CPU is. 27fps, no video.
i get frustrated at the lack of video so i try windowed mode. still nothin'. finally...
DESPERATION MODE
320x200, windowed, AI off, everything as low as possible. 27 fps, no video.
i give up, my rig can't run this. if i bother upgrading my hardware, i might give this a try, but for now i'll stick to fallout 3.
i can say, though, that i tried the first far cry in anticipation of far cry 2. seemed like a mix of far cry 2 (from what i saw in videos) and typical 90's over-the-top games. (trigens, everyone is obviously a body builder, storyline kind of ridiculous, but fun, etc.) far cry minus the trigens and with more mercs and weapons would probably be a good approximation of the gameplay, but i guess i'll have to wait until i can play it (might end up being never).
