Weird graphics problem

Post by kevinnnnn »

This started happening after I got a new computer with vista and a geforce 8500 gt. In halo trial, full, and ce in multiplayer maps (I don't know about sp) when I look towards the center of the map, random things flash and it gets really laggy. The things that flash look kind of like what happens when you pmi something without decrapping the model and then the model is messed up. This doesn't happen with Halo 2.

Could possibly be an issue with Vista

I use an 8600GTS on XP and it works fine.

its not vista, you've probably just got the resolution really low or your running flycam at the same time or something, it does that for me too, but minus the lag

It's a graphics card problem most likely. I have the same issue on my crappy laptop. It's colorful and has loose verts everywhere right?

Exactly. And I'm not doing anything guysullavin said. But what could be the problem? My card isn't bad; I can run Halo 2 fine and with that type of card I should be able to run Halo at high resolutions.

This is known as Graphical Artifacting that's when the graphics unit is either overheating or has been overclocked too much.
Check your temps or if you have been overclocking; lower the clock speeds by at least 10MHz until you notice it stop.

overheating/overclocking is not always the case. it can also do that because this is vista. if you dont believe me i have the sources to prove it. its vista. you may also want to check your software and see if there are any updates.
