Flamethrower flame extension?

Post by cmori3 »

Ok, so I know how to make the flamethrower set the far walls of the map on fire, but I really want the actual flame to reach much further. Is this possible? If so, can you post instructions? I am using HMT v3.5, but I am happy to use any other necessary tools to get the job done.
Thanks.

I think it's something to do with the particle systems. Even I don't know my way around them yet. :P
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

Thanks. Has anyone done this before, or know how to do it?

:::Calling Andrew_b:::

He's done a lot with the flamethrower using CE, I'm sure he'll be able to tell you.

You're going to want to edit all 4 of the defoliants.

weapons\flamethrower\effects\defoliant
weapons\flamethrower\effects\defoliant2
weapons\flamethrower\effects\fp_defoliant2
weapons\flamethrower\effects\fp_defoliant3

try changing the explosion size at the very top of hmt. And then scroll down to the very bottom and change radius on particle type 0.

I'm not really used the hmt's basic plugins. Sorry. Look into to eschaton maybe, If you want me to, I will see if I can do it in eschaton.

I'm not sure where the 'explosion size' is. There's a box that reads 'System Update Physics' with two selectable boxes: Default and Explosion. Is that what you're talking about?

It's at the very top of the tag editor. You have Phenomena's plug-ins right?
