Modding Contest

Post by DeadHamster »

Ok, there will be a monthly contest:
December Rules: wrote:
Due by December 24th, 2008, 11:59PM.

This due date will NOT be moved, for any reasons.

No Themes.

No New CE BSP's. You may still use CE for whatever else though, including new tags and new Models, to an extent.

Follow all Halomods Rules.

All entries must be mods, not just a single skin or model, and no map-packs are allowed.

Any new bitmaps must be either internalized or have 2 patches for bitmaps.map included, one to apply the skins and one to bring it back to stock.

Winner gets bragging rights. Unfortunately I have nothing else to offer, unless they'd like the avatar I've given in the past.
Voting will work the same as it has in the past, each participant votes for another participant who they feel did best, outsiders can choose whoever they feel did best.

Most votes wins.

Something wasn't clear. Did you say SP-MP was allowed, or wasn't?

Yes, that was part of the second group of allowed things. Also, Trial maps are fine to use as well. I'm updating the original post to be clearer.

In that case, I'm in. I was actually just about to work on something, anyways.

lol conure, I dunno. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with no, the program doesnt have to be public. As long as it's not using CE I guess it's fine.

It doesnt matter how long you've worked on it before.

The voting system I think will work best is every person that enters must select one map other then theirs that they believe is the best.

I'm in, and by the looks of the thread we have 7 people besides me. Sounds like a good amount of competition. Let's see who sticks around until the end.

Prepare to have your jaws drop then, I have a mod I've been working on for roughly 14 months =D will be done in a week and give another week for play tests and bug testing.
Internalized bitmaps/sounds. All and I mean all lightmaps are redone, physics system drastically altered, global lighting effects, particle system redone and refined for better looking effects and runs more efficiently.
All scenery has been removed 100% and replaced, new water affects and awesome well refined balanced gameplay including new weapons, vehicles. Secret weapons and hidden rooms as well as many new features in the ingame UI plus much much more. =D

-Map has never been rebuilt.

My goal was to make an awesome air combat map with dangers in the sky and on the ground while keeping balanced, fair, and fun gameplay all without the eye catching ability of doing a PMI.

It's a single map correct? When I said Map earlier, I meant map. Not maps. No FTW/FTD stuff in here (sorry Philleh)
