I'll look around for different BSP's. If I find another I like I'll use it.

Excuse the double post.

I have the map built. It's currently using one of b40's BSP's.

Right now i'm working on spawn points for the chief and weapons/scenery/etc.

Due to the change in BSP, the story had to be scrapped, and I'll have to re-write another. Here's the original story, with select parts edited out, for the sake of not releasing some info quite yet.

Code: Select all

The hordes of flood seem to never end, and as you continue fighting their ranks continue to become larger and larger. No matter how hard you push, they push harder. Spotting an exit, you race towards it.

Fighting your way through it, you take a right down the path, then a left, another turn, and another, all the while fighting off the swarms of flood attacking you. The farther you get, the more they seem to push, the more daring they get, as though they're desperate in keeping you back.

You round one more corner into an open room, much simmilar to the first you were in, yet with noticable changes.

In front of you, staring you down, stands Captain Sheffield. A large door falls behind you, the flood stare at you, yet do not move to attack neither you nor him. They stand there, watching, waiting, reminiscent of the most disciplined of military forces.

He speaks

"Im impressed. You're much more resourceful then I first believed spartan. I never expected you to make it out of there, and I must congratulate you. However, make no mistake about it. This site is no longer a testing ground. From this day forward it will be nothing more then a tombstone. It will be leveled, and all will be forgotten. All the tests, all the expieriments, everything. All that will remain is the final result, what you see before you."

THe flood cry out into the darkness. They're hisses and growls send shivers down your spine, but you stand steady. You point your battle rifle at the head of the captain.

----EDIT----

You steady your aim, and reply;

"Yes, This will be leveled, the results will be remembered, and it will be a tombstone. You're right captain. On all but one thing. What has happened here will never be lost, nor forgotten. "

He shoots you an angered glare.

"Moreover Captain, today is not my day to die. This tombstone will not be my resting place, it belongs to you."

You perfect your aim, and prepare to pull the trigger.

However, you failed to notice the flood approaching. Before you can pull of the shot, the gun is hit out of your hands, and bounces away on the floor.

You grab the flood. Something shocks you. In it's eyes, you see fear. Even through all of it's change, it still maintains some of it's originality. It's still human.

Sensing a weakness in your stalling, it once again tried to lash out at you. Mustering all your strength, you toss him far and down into the fiery pit. Reaching for your pistol, you glance up again, and begin analyzing the best way to handle this situation.

And being Spartan-117, you ignore it, and race head on into the onslaught of flood.

Comments on the story welcome, also please add any suggestions that you want to see now, I'll only be willing to make another build for a while longer, if I get any further I'm not gonna want to go back.

Well, here's a little hint:

You were originally planned to be stuck inside a room with the captain, and you had guns.

You can put the rest of the pieces together I'm sure. It was originally planned for the captain is a boss in this level, and he was bringing in the big guns. As you were fighting off flood, he'd be shooting at you.

This will be altered slightly. If the idea I have works out in actuality as much as theory, then we're in busines. You'll have to go in, kill the captain, then bring back "proof", before you can exit in a banshee back home to safety.

he'll have two weapons, his one unique one, and a flag. When he dies he'll drop the flag, which will look not-flagish, that you then bring back to the banshee, where the flag return marker will be.

Internet strikes again
Act 3 story wrote:Their hisses and growls send shivers down your spine, but you stand steady.
I edited it for proper grammar

also angered glare just plain old sounds funny. Seeing as how glares can not be angered, but they can be angry.

sounds fun, hopefully I'll be able to play it on my mac

You should be able to, the first two worked on my mac so assuming Deadhamster doesn't do anything to major or different it should work.

it'll work, assuming the last two did. The only new thing is that it's a non-a SP BSP, and that there will be a few weapons with 2 triggers.

I once tried to turn the ball into the masterchief helmet... if you look on the last level, there is a model for it because in the last scene, he removes his helmet...

couldn't get it to work though...
