Soul Calibur IV
Soul Calibur IV
I just picked up my copy of SCIV, and I must say I'm very impressed. The character creation is very in-depth and my favorite part of the game.
I was wondering what everyone here thinks of the game.

Only the post-N64 Mortal Kombats were bad. All the old ones are fantastic (except maybe that 3d one for N64, but I was so young when that was out I don't think I could really judge it). Soul Calibur 1 and 2 are great, 3 was just terrible, but I've heard nothing but good things about 4, even from some of the tourney-happy friends I have.UnknownSilens wrote:Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur are failed attempts at games. And with the online play with the new one, it'll only be n00bs spamming one attack constantly.

Star wars characters barely change the game, well for me.
Character customization is amazing, a lot of cool stuff. Unlocking different items is by far the best part. This is the only game that I've tried to get achievements in.
Really good game if you like unlocking stuff and making custom characters. Fighting can get boring at times, but meh thats just how it is.

I like somewhat realism in my games thank you.
Yeah...seems realistic to me.
Are you on drugs?
What I mean by realism is that in the movies they can cut a big ass hole in a 10 inch thick door, but in this game them make like the light sabers you buy at target.... Colorful pieces of plastic.

Not removing this 'till I get back. Leaving on [01/05/09]

Not all fighting games are button mash fests, and even those that are, it's because the user chooses to make them that. A player who understands just frames, punishing and counter attacks can kick the crap out of someone who's just pressing buttons.Cuda wrote:Hooray! Another Button Mash fest. Virtua Fighter anyone?
Also, Tekken is the worst fighting game ever. Even worse than Shaq-fu. It's so bad that Tomonobu Itagaki was asked what his 5 least favorite games were, and he said all five Tekken games. Really, Tekken is just lol.
