Ok I posted this a million times but Ill do it again so I can help you out...

1. First off you have to install two copies of halo.
-> why... one for regular game play... one for modded game play!
2. When you install your second copy of halo name it this "Halo (Mods)"
3. So now you have "Halo" & "Halo (Mods)" installed.
4. Remember if you want to switch from one game to the other meaning regular and modded game play... erase your cache in either x, y, or z folder!

Hope I was of some help to you!

I have multiple copies of several maps for HALO on my XBOX, and I only have one copy of HALO on it. Just save all the modded maps in a folder in the C folder and then copy them into the Z folder whenever you want to play them. It works best if you place them all in different folders that you don't have to rename them everytime you want to play them.
I've been dazed and confused for so long it's not true...

yeah i knew i could do both of those things.....but not quite what i meant....i really dont care ne more ill just use halo cache editor.....but what i was trying to do was add more modded maps to the map selection in the ONE copy of halo...if its possible lemme know.....i know that if you delete the demos folder then it no longer shows up so i figured there might be a way to make extra maps show up

There it. I don't know how to do it, but I've seen it done. Well, maybe not add, but you can replace. In the HALO files section there is a mod where somebody replaced most of the maps. They have different names, pictures, and everything. I'd assume that all you'd have to do is put different maps in place of the defualt ones. Not in the cache, in the actual folder where HALO is saved. Then you could edit the UI cache(003 I think) with HMT and then replace the defualt one with it. It'd probably be easier to just copy the files into the cache when you want to play them though.

UI cache is 002, but you'll have to use Spark Edit to compress the cache into a mpa file you can put into halo. You can add extra maps, but it requires you making you OWN interface for the level. (textures, highlited effect, picture, level description, not to mention it's own reference in the UI to make it actually load a level, and write some of the code to run the map.) I am willing to do this for you if it's a mod worth the time. (not like making the Sniper shoot tank shells and thats it. PM me if you're still interested.
