duplicating

I want to duplicate the plasma rifle and the sniper rifle but to do that I need 2 multiplayer maps. I am going to use Philly's tut and I have 2 options.

1. I can extract the weapons from a halo full map but I don't know if it will work or not

2. I can extract them from another copy of bloodgulch but I don't know if it will work or not

Which of the 2 methods will work? If they don't work is there an alternative?

Why do you need 2 mp maps to duplicate tags that are in one?

Just copy the map and dupe it from the copied one.

Well I was reading a duplicating tutorial and it says that you need to open a different map and extract it but I don't have a different mp map so I was wondering if a halo full one would work but I'll try what you said MoDFox

They lied. You can dupe from the same map. And yes a Halo full one should work provided you're not using bitm or snd! tags.

you need a second map, because if not the models will be shared, because it will have the same offset.

If you want to copy the map, first inject a remodeled model into the copied one for every weapon. If you do this it should work.

You can always take it from the SP map though, so I would do that

Nothing wrong with them sharing the same model unless you want to have different models (not enough info to judge on that). That doesn't say much of HMTs rebuilding capability if it can't add model data when it adds new tags.

The answer should be obvious if you know how to duplicate a regular old tag...

I gave you the answer, extract all the tags from b30.map, if you can't get some from there, then copy bloodgulch, inject a new model, and then extract.

No, I lied. Yes, you can duplicate from the same map, but it leaves it messier than a 15 year old's bedsheets, so it's best to copy the map or use another one.

ew, also I have done that before, and it really in the long run is not that difficult.
