The Dark Knight
I went earlier to the 6:15 showing, it sold out before i got tickets had to end up waiting for the 6:45 showing. The movie was simply amazing. It sucks though having seen it now I can't help but be sad, Heath Ledger was my favorite actor, my favorite movie being A Knights Tale. I was eccentric when I heard he would be playing Joker. Its really sad to see him do his best performance yet and not even be around to see the success of it. Another thing that bothers me is this movie didn't conclude the story of the Joker and its apparent the Joker will play a big part in the next movie, but it just wont be the same without Heath doing it. I can honestly say his death brings a tear to my eye, R.I.P. Heath Ledger, you will be highly missed.
Don't be.

after just getting bac from the imax viewing of the movie i can honestly say that was a great movie. there is just something i loved about the time and thought that went into that plot. even though it is based on super villians we know and comic books it was still fresh and surprising. i thought it was a bit long but the complex plot made the movie fine for the sit down.
i would hate to see two-face come back. if you would stop being fanboys for a second and think about it they needed to kill two-face off. if they brought him back the entire second movie would lose a lot of importance
as for the joker even though he could be brought back i think it would be best if he was not and i do not think they would anyways

thx dr cox for the sig
Just saw it last night. It was good, but jesus, overhyped. I was going to see how far it was on imdb's top 250. I lol'd. Heath Ledger did a great job, blah blah blah. I normally wouldn't say he deserves an oscar, but when you think about it, it's not like anyone else deserves it more at the moment. Kind of disappointing he's all dead and stuff, more joker would've been great. Two-face was okay. It took forever for him to actually become two-face, and his character was relatively uninteresting up until then. And then bam, he's dead, the end. Rachel died and pretty much no one cared in the movie, and I don't blame them either. I was sick of looking at her ugly, ugly face. You pretty much have to watch Batman Begins before it, I'd say. Bruce and Gordon pretty much have nothing in the character department in this movie, if you ask me. And was it just me or was the mayor wearing mascara?
so:
Christian Bale - Was he even in this movie? The lamborghini crash was funny, but that was pretty much it for Bruce. Batman's voice was awful.
Heath Ledger - Good, very good. Not BEST ACTOR IN BEST MOVIE EVER. But very good.
Aaron Eckhart - Meh for the whole movie and then he started to get good, and then he died.
Maggie Gyllenhaal is ugly. Really ugly. She made this face two or three times in the movie and instantly looked 20 years older. If I were Batman, I would've let her fall off that building. But honestly, I think she is what dragged this movie down. All her scenes with anyone were just boring and poorly acted. It seemed like she was just there to die. Batman even did the whole boo-hoo-she-died thing for about 30 seconds before Alfred told him to shut up and fight crime. She should've died early.
Gary Oldman - I like Gary Oldman. Not in this movie. All his scenes with Eckhart were just meh. It was just "let's yell at each other unconvincingly!" Maybe he just needed more screen time. I don't know.
But overall, good movie. I'm curious as to where Nolan will go with the next one.

Don't do it!!! Any of them between Batman Returns and Batman Begins suck!! And would single handedly ruin the new batmans for you!!Pyroman wrote:Very good movie. Just got back from the 8:00 showing (11pm now) and it was packed.
I have never really seen any Batman movie at all before this and this movie actually peeked my interest. I kinda wanna check out other movies now..
The Movie was insane!! although I do have some complaints, three specifically.
1. I was disappointed that they all but ditched everything he gained from the league of shadows training from the first one, because while I thought the fight scenes were okay in this one with batman plowing his way from thug to thug all out in the open with just his fist, I thought it was way cooler in the first one where he would run around in the dark making noises to scare the thugs and then jump out and say "BOO!!" and THEN he takes them out! If they had done more of that it would have been WAYYYYYY cooler!!
2. I thought the sonar eyeball things that lucious had control over and batman could see through walls with was just WAYYYY to easy and convenient to add anything exciting to the story other than "Look at what cool gadget we can come up with and attempt to make mildly beleivable just so that we can do something cool!!" The thing i thought was cool about the Batman Begins was that while batman did rely on alot of technology, they were alot simpler, and made him more badass as to what he could do even with his limitations.
3. I hated the fact that his bat tank thing, not sure if that vehicle technically can be considered a bat mobile? but still very cool and believable.........until it transformed into the motor cycle. I have a bunch of reasons for this that I could explain having alot to do with no military vehicles in real life would ever do that!! but the main reason why I didn't like it was because it brought me out of this cool new persona that they gave batman and reminded me of the meteocre 90's batman movies where the batmobile's did things similar to that. and what bothered me was that I feel like it could be a foreshadowing of the things that will cause batman to decline in epicness as more and more sequels come out!
Not to say that there aren't many truly good aspects to this movie!! I think the performance of joker single handedly balanced out the flaws of this movie to bring it back up to a about 4.5 stars for me! and everything else like the the boats scene which brought a perilous excitement that really was reminiscent of the saw movies!! And the shockingness of the realistic and gruesome two face was crazy!! And not to mention the entire feeling of the movie gave you, it made you feel the sense of danger and helplessness everyone in the movie was feeling! It all brings it up to 5 stars for me! =)

I disliked this movie. Maggie Gyllenhaal looks like a baggy old fist. The Joker was by far the best played character in the movie. The Sweat faded, drippy makeup added to the craziness of him, and it was well done. Twoface shoulda played a bigger role a lot earlier in the film, and the Persian Thug Gangster with the dogs, the Thug Black dude and the Triad Thug Accountant seemed tacked on and useless. The whole Cellphone Eyeball camera thing made batman look like Ultraman without the badass Red and Silvers.
