Oh, sorry. Overlooked that.TheEazyB wrote:If you read my post, you would have realized that is incorrect. The usermap stores placement chunks for them, if you edit the co ords to a place far under the map or up high etc it will work. You cannot delete the placement chunk, because the .map scenario dictates there must be a certain number of turrets spawned and that they must have AI.Eaton wrote:You cannot modify them in any way. But sense halo 3 allows a different type of geometry than halo 1 it could work.
Short answer: Yes you can move them places far out of the map to make them useless, you just cant remove them from the map period.

If they are moved somewhere in the map, will they still shoot at you? Or do they only shoot if the AI detects someone past the point where they normally shoot?
Senor_Grunt: Okay, so, I was playing CoD4 earlier, and about 30 minutes into playing, the screen went black, then flashed, then the 360 gave me red rings. Only, they weren't rings, they were half of the ring. Like, only two of the controller light thingies were light up red. WTF does this mean? Like seriously. My 360 still works, but it does that like once every week at the least, and it's getting annoying getting to round 16 in the zombie mode for CoD5 (so totally not bragging ), then suddenly blacking out. :[

Not sure. They most likely will shoot but only if your past the certain point.bballaplaya4life wrote:If they are moved somewhere in the map, will they still shoot at you? Or do they only shoot if the AI detects someone past the point where they normally shoot?

I wonder if they made it so that if you're a certain distance behind the turret it will shoot at you...TheEazyB wrote:Not sure. Pretty sure it's once you cross a barrier/enter a region too far outside of the map. I imagine that would be significantly easier. Each turret probably has a set region in which it will shoot someone. Something like this, with the overlapping regions where multiple turrets will shoot at you.

It could be done either way, but I'd imagine it would be more manageable like this.

Yea actually that's pretty much how it works, for me at least, but I don't think there's an overlapping region.Tural wrote:Pretty sure it's once you cross a barrier/enter a region too far outside of the map. I know whyFrak wrote:Ok now that we've figured that out now can you tell me why my covie sniper tower keeps disappearing....
I set the tower to never re spawn so i don't know why it just goes POOF! and is never seen again about 30 seconds into the game.

If the top is forced to move when it spawns, it will disappear after 30 seconds.
If you play the map and go to theater, you will see that the top of your sniper turret is forced to move slightly when it spawns.
You need to position it perfectly so that it doesn't move when it starts; If you can do this, it won't ever disappear (unless you blow it up or shoot it too much

It's really difficult to position it perfectly, and I've only ever seen one map that the sniper tower top didn't disappear.

Supposedly the technique used in this tutorial at ibotmodz works to make the top not disappear. http://www.ibotmodz.net/foru/?showtopic=4967
I haven't tried it myself yet.
