Idiots are irresponsible.
Screenshots can show anything, anything. We refuse to condone such images being created, and especially hosted on Bungie's server. There is absolutely no reason someone would need to modify a screenshot. As we won't allow them on Bungie's File Shares and such, we'd only be condoning people use them on their own console, and that would be pointless. The cons severely outweigh the pros.

Correct me is I'm wrong but aren't the DLC maps stored in CON files? Thus making it possible to mod them?

They are in LIVE files. And even if it were a CON, the maps would still need resigning.

But this is an issue we have here. I've heard that these resigners are offline resigners only though...

To my knowledge these resigners don't require a server connection - hence they cant be offline.[/b]

If I'm not mistaken, a variant file is ALSO a CON file. From what I've gathered, and correct me if I'm wrong, a CON file is a file type that encapsulates custom content on your Xbox. The signature in the file must match your Xbox's CON signature, though. That's why gamesaves do not work across all 360s.

If you are going to argue semantics, then no, you are wrong. The files beginning with the text "usermap" ARE con files. The data within theses con files, sandbox.map, contains the forge variant data, and are not con files. All this I'm sure you know, but I'm making it clear for the first guy.

Those two values should speak for themselves. I'm guessing you have to grab a file from your 360 to retrieve the DID?

No.
Profile ID is a value that is unique to each profile. It is not your gamertag.
Device ID is not the console, it is the storage device. It can be a hard drive, memory card, whatever. They have individual device IDs.
Both values can be found in any container generated by the console.

PID Len: 8
DID Len: 14

PID Loc: 0x00000371
DID Loc: 0x000003FD

I know it is but the person my original post was meant for was talking about MM mods in Halo 3 and I was telling him thats a .map mod not a CON mod...

@DHalo, it's worth noting that the keyvault necessary for retrieving your private/public keys for CONtainers is not something that is easily accessed via Xsata. You will need to build/make/fashion a NAND dumper to retrieve it or use the others as long as they remain unbanned.

I'm also curious as to what the "offline indicates". I... know someone trying to download the existing modded maps that Anthony had released and some of them wouldn't even transfer properly... but offline does not indicate that they can't be put on Bungie's fileshare as we've seen Anthony's content spread there (yes, I know we shouldn't upload any new content) and we also know from other details that they are playable online, so maybe the offline just indicates that they should be used offline, else the KV will be banned? Not entirely sure though.

How's the neutered resigner coming?

Well there are .map files in CON files, so you should be more specific.
Theyre cache files, not an actually .map with a BSP and every tag for that map

Neither, go to xboxscenes to learn about the KK exploit and whatever else is required to obtain it seeing how I dont think this site condones discussion of the process to obtain a NAND dump
