George Carlin's racy comedy inspired many of today's greats, and he entrusted his viewers to use his comedy for more than entertainment, but also to provide insight into themselves. He is best known for his skit, "7 Words you Cannot Say on TV," which propelled him into stardom (and sub-sequentially got him arrested).
Carlin continued to perform to audiences nationwide, including performing on 14 HBO specials, his most recent of which was "It's Bad for Ya.", originally aired in March of 2008.
Carlin had a history of heart problems, as he described to Jon Stewart on "40 years of Comedy," and he regrettably passed away Sunday from heart failure.
I honor this man with being a true icon for my teenage years, and by far, the most original, and impressive comedian I have ever listened to and watch perform. Rest in Peace George Carlin, and thank you.
