HaloPC?

What's HALOPC? Is is Halo:CE on PC? Or is it another Halo game i don't know about?

I am looking to browse for Halo:CE on PC mods . . . i guess i am most interested in single player maps, including maps that don't have anything to do with the original HALO storyline.

Halo PC is, Halo: Combat Evolved on the PC. Halo CE is a Custom Edition of halo PC where you can have custom maps. More of a general question wouldn't you say?

As a note, Halo CE is also what some people call the Xbox version, but around here it is usually used to refer to Halo Custom Edition.

So i'd need to have Custom Edition before i can use mods?

There are mods for Halo PC. You do not need to have Custom Edition to use Halo PC mods. Custom Edition is a free download however, so you can get and use it whenever you want.

Cool . . . so i can download mods and maps for Halo PC without the CE add-on? I am interested in a mod that will allow the Masterchief some different abilities, and also i am interested in maps, not necessarily halo-themed maps either.

You can download Custom Edition and use that to play fully custom maps (Designed entirely by players), which would be the 'non-Halo themed' maps you refer to. Those can be found here:

I see. You wouldn't happen to have a link for this CE would you? I'm assuming it's just an add-on and i still have to download the HaloPC game right?

You need to purchase Halo PC to use Custom Edition, yes. You can get CE from any of the links on this page.

Basically, you buy Halo PC, download Halo CE (www.halomaps.org) and then install CE using the CD Key that you used for the regular Halo PC edition. Then you're all set to play both.

Just reading all that is a bit confusing. I mean its like..

Halo: CEPC meaning 'Halo: Combat Evolved for PC.

but then you can have..

Halo: CECEPC meaning 'Halo: Combat Evolved Custom Edition for PC.

Im just in a silly mod, read Tural's posts. He nailed it.

did they really offially name custom edition as Halo: Combat evolved Custom Edition? xD
I thought it was just Halo: Custom Edition.

Either way they are both Halo:CE(CE)

And uh, for CE your going to have to install .MAP files. Download, and extract to C:\Program Files\Games\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom edition\Maps (as I'm assuming you didn't come up with a custom directory) and uh, your all set.

Another thing to remember, halo CE is slightly more editable mod-wise then halo PC.
