Halo PC issue

I recently had to reinstall my copy of Halo PC, I had made a backup of my retail CD when I purchased the game, and a while after the backup was made the retail CD was scratched and wouldn't install, so everytime I have installed it afterwards I used the backup CD, and then used the Retail to play and have had no problems.



However, on the most recent reinstallation, I managed to succesfully reinstall using the backup, but after trying to run it using the retail CD, it begins to load, but then closes. I have tried reinstalling a few other times, I used a program my friend advised me to try to fix problems with my registry, and nothing has been able to get the game to run.

If anybody could help me out with getting the game to run that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

have you tried running it with the backup cd, or is the backup cd just the files on the retail CD copied then burned?
