Question about replacing two mongoose's with two scarab's.

Lets say I wanted to replace a mongoose with a scarab. I have the capability of opening any map I want in engenier. I have a usermap saved that I want to replace the two mongooses on the map with two scarabs. Do i find the code or meta or whatever it is called for the scarab and the mogoose in the .map file and then find it in the usermap file and replace it with what I want to??? What do I do to replace another item with another. And please dont tell me that you need a resigner because I know that.

That wont work because usermaps only read what identifiers are in the associated map. You cant inject anything.

That is what I was saying there is a scarab identifier in the map and there is also a mongoose identifier in the map but in the user map cant I replace the mongoose identifier with the scarab identifier? or did that not make any sense at all.

There are no scarab identifiers in any maps, except the campaign, that i know of.

I doubt you can replace anything with a scarab, but the same technique with anything else (like a pelican) should work :D

I don't think there are any Pelicans in any Multiplayer maps either.

I meant by the actual vehicle. The actual vehicle that if you changed the seat string ID you would be able to drive it.

All you have to do, is search for the mongoose Ident. Then replace it with the Scarab Ident. But it might not spawn a full scarab. I remeber that I spawned a troop hog on the pit. But all I got was the seat :cry:

But do i go into the .map file with Engenier or Johnson but which is the idenifeir i need to fined cause there are like three difernet lines with numbers and also do i go under tags or strings and once i have the thing i want to replace do i go in the usermap with hex edit and find the one i would like to replace??? Please someone give me a short tutorial?

Instead of the scarab (because I searched for awhile through Johnson but no luck) I am using Anti Air Wraiths. I have replaced the identifiers and everything but I am slightly confused do you resign the usermap. What would you do after switching the identifiers pretending we had the right programs at the moment?
