Imagination aside, that was awesome.
"Imagination aside" gives a pretty clear indication that he believed it was real, and was using his imagination in describing what it looked like. However, since it was fake, that is what it was supposed to look like. So yeah, pretty sure he believe it.

appearently, I was not sold on the flashing throughout the video. that light just did not make it see like it was possible, what would cause it? there is no way that could be real, also way to dramatic.

It was just a video for fun.. It's not supposed to follow any realistic laws or anything.
I personally thought it was pretty cool.

No, some great Hollywood SFX.

But yes I did believe it. My thought process went as follows:

1) Wow, this really weird, I thought it would explode; not expand. Oh well, learn new things everyday

*looks closer*

2) Huh, that looks somewhat like a swamp monster, which would be creepy, but there is no way in hell that a living organism can be spawned by heating a cell battery

3) Wow, the real intent was to show off the SFX skills of the creator.

Admittedly, step 3 took a long time to realize, but before it, I just thought I was looking at expanding chemicals that happened to look like something out of a horror flicl; I then put two and two together.

United States Air Force commercial I did in Multimedia.
I could have made it a lot better if I had the time, but I didn't. Adobe Premier+Adobe After Effects.

Hold-able fire balls.
Awesome for arsonists. It's fun to hold, but don't hold it too long cause it will hurt :P
Yeah, I'm sure it works. It sure as heck looks like it would, I mean, geez, that's got to hurt. And I saw that 2nd video. Pretty cool, but my dad would never let me try that.
