I don't mod, and I'm not involved in the modding processes in any way. I just pay attention.
For the most part, everything I know can be easily obtained by anyone who wishes to find it.

I was just curious because most projects I'd been watching haven't moved in the last month, 2+ months... so I was just wondering if you had an inside track somehow. And you "mod" enough to be well known around here...

Anyways, I really only want to be updated on their mods because I can't do it myself. I would just like an update on something if there is anything worth posting, which I'm guessing there hasn't been.

Also Grim, Someone I know and I are working on how to claculate and fix the RSA and SHA-1 hash. You seem trust worthy enough if we find anything Ill let you know

I know this is obvious, but you can simply change the usermap's author in the BLF header if you are worried about accountability/banning. I don't think there is any other way to trace a modded map back to you (as long as you dont do something stupid and fileshare it).

I didn't say he was. I was just stating that fact for anyone who wishes to know. Also, I personally don't think releasing a modded usermap that can't be used in any way for cheating is being an ass, but apparently Bungie does.

Bungie just wants their game to be played the way it was meant to be played. They don't care if we mod as long as we do it offline.

It's how it is perceived. The general public, the Bungie.net-going public is, for lack of a better term, almost entirely retarded. Their responses to it are completely retarded and it gets blown way out of proportion. News sites pick it up and start posting about mods in Halo 3 and whatever. If it could be managed as the insignificant thing it really is, it wouldn't be a problem, but people are so stupid that they become so obsessed with a tiny thing and everything gets out of hand.

Good point. The threads on BNet about a modded map sound like a pack of wild animals. :lol:

This doesent make sense, I check the Items_Spawned_OnMap byte, and its at 22. But the spawn data table says there a 0 items spawned. So im guessing there are a cuple items you cant delete because there out of bounds on some maps? The map is foundry. Is there a set amount for each map that I have to take into account?
