Desktop icons showing background.

I left my laptop on overnight cause I was re-downloading XUbuntu, and my kitten got up on my desk for a cookie I had up here while I was asleep, and when I woke up, the icons looked like that. :/ Not sure what she did, but she was most likely walking on the keyboard. >_< Can anyone help?

-Go to Control Panel
-System
-Advanced
-Performance area
-Settings button Visual Effects tab
-"Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"

Hope that helps.

The most common reason I see for that is, as Patrick said, active desktop content is enabled. See if going to your desktop properties (Right click > Properties > Desktop tab), clicking "Customize Desktop," going to the Web tab and disabling it will fix it.
