I never said it can be a subconscious choice when setting your avatar. The comment you quoted wasn't even about setting an avatar, it was about seeing one. You are bringing up two completely irrelevant topics. I never said, anywhere, that choosing an avatar can be a subconscious decision. You are wrong in suggesting that I did.

The poll is a loaded question. You're asking "Do you agree with anything I've said?" To which the answer for most will be yes. Now you've backed off because of contradictions and illogical portions, and are now claiming "Well, it has some impact, just not a big one." You have made your claim less dramatic so you can try to please more people and rally them around you. If it has such a minimal impact, it does not warrant a discussion. If it has a large impact, then you are misrepresenting various elements, as has been thrown back in your face several times now. Can it have an effect? Yes, if the people are stupid. Should it have an effect? No, because people should be reading the damn posted message to gather the intended response. As I stated, if you make an angry post and a happy post, then this entire discussion is inaccurate. They are drawing an angry emotion from your avatar while reading a happy post and deciding that you are angry in the post because of it. This is your claim. You claim the avatar impacts reading of the posts. No, it doesn't, or rather, it shouldn't, given people have any reasonable level of comprehension and intelligence. It affects their perception of you, but not your posts. That entire claim is a gross overgeneralization. The ONLY way you could be accurate in your assessment is if the avatar changed with EVERY post, or if the person only made ONE type of post.


And again I ask, who gives a shit? People will always choose avatars they like, not avatars that change people's impressions of them, because said people should gather opinions from the damn messages, not a stupid picture. You assume your viewer isn't stupid and/or ignorant when you choose the avatar, which would lead them to such a stupid conclusion that the face represents your constant emotion.
