Stretched Vertice

I remodeled the sniper rifle and found that there was an enormous, ugly, smelly stretched vertice sticking out. The model is pretty nice otherwise, so I want to know how I can get rid of this vertice. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure of this is the way to do it, but exporting the imported model from HMT will allow you to see stray verts, and fix them.

There was a tutorial long ago in a galaxy far far away that teaches you how to fix this problem, but I can't remember where it was. it may have been on this site, if i'm not mistaken.
