Ironic but not that funny, this could be a new way to kill people >_>
That hack is so lame, can't call that a hack seriously, the purpose of that doesn't help on anything, people called hackers are supposed to find security flaws to show their knownledge and also prevent this kind of secrurity flaws, yes there is "bad" hackers whatever, this is a bit funny but completly irreponsible and so dangerous for the users >_>

But we don't really know what the forum looked like when it was hacked so, anyway if i was epileptic i would turn down the brightness of my screen, but sure the last thing that a website like this could do is give epileptic attacks...

So yes the most stupid hack ever...

I don't think you can dictate what other people find funny.

Having a friend and a brother-in-law with epilepsy, I couldn't help but feel angered and sad at the same time; however, when I read it (in the middle of class, mind you), I couldn't help but laugh uncontrollably. I believe there is nothing wrong with finding humor in a large variety of things. It's unfortunate , but I can guarantee that if I show my epileptic brother-in-law the article, he too would get a kick out of it.

I do believe you've misinterpreted the meaning of the word "thoughtful."

Not funny...Nothing about this is funny, one thing I don't get anyway is why they describe those people as "hackers"...some random ppl that spammed up a forum...why do those ppl have to be hackers?

I read this yesterday and found it hillarious. If it was somebody I knew, as long as they didn't die, I'd still find it funny. The irony in it all is just amazing.

I'm not seeing how it's ironic, as it was plotted >_> As someone stated before, it would be ironic if there were advertisements that flashed around on the website, but I don't think this is ironic.
But still funny.. Very funny indeed :D

I'm guessing, due to the fact that they hacked the forums, that they were hackers. They don't appear to be regular Joes who joined the forum and spammed it up. If this were the case, they would have said so. There's a big difference between spamming and hacking.

I'm with you all the way, man.
I lol'd HARD at this... it's an amazingly hilarious play on irony. Sure it sucks for the people effected... but.. I lol'd

Reminds me of when the RIAA's website was hacked and they covered the front page with links to torrent sites and stuff..... they both made me lol in the same way.

Patrick is right. This wasn't Hackers. "they posted hundreds of flashing animated images onto discussion boards". "Technically, none of this was hacking, since it didn't involve breaking into anyone's Web site".... Also, This is funny, because nobody was harmed, one person reported to fox and if u read what they said id bet it didnt affect them at all and they just wanted to be in the news, seemed like they exagerated there story...
Don't be.
