Ok, here's the deal. my friend and I had the idea to make a mod that replaces all the sounds with human-made ones. I, however, have absolutely no experience in sound modding in particular, and I figured I would try something simple, just to see if I could actually do it.
Simple mod: Replace the menu music with AC/DC's "Back in Black." I found a sound injector somewhere, cut up the song accordingly, and injected it. Now, whenever I load up the game, I just get silence, except for the clicks of the menu buttons. No music. What happened? Can anybody help me?
Sounds. Help?

I can't say I know much at all,
But the music injector may be injecting your song as the same format it originally was e.g Back in Black.mp3
I'm sure that the main menu music is a different format to .mp3's
But im not certain
You could search for a music converter,
Find out what format the main menu music is and chnage your song to that?
but other than that I can't help much more
hope I helped

well, actually i had already converted the song parts to wma, and before injecting, I extracted the original song and made sure the 4 or 5 parts were more or less identical (same size and format) I don't really care about the menu music in particular, it was just a test of sorts. (although it'd be cool) what I really need to be able to do is replace the sound effects, perhaps on coagulation.
As Eaton had said before, some songs/music may not work even if it is the right extension/format. I would have no clue either as to what this problem is about, or why this happens.BattleSkarz wrote:well, actually i had already converted the song parts to wma, and before injecting, I extracted the original song and made sure the 4 or 5 parts were more or less identical (same size and format) I don't really care about the menu music in particular, it was just a test of sorts. Btw, Having music in gameplay is possible i'm sure of it, maybe replacing the eerie continuous sounds effects in a level with a song could work?
But replacing eerie music with rock or metal..
You get the point

@ Eaton
do you have any, ANY experience with sound modding? I would love some help with this.
oh, and I extracted the Back in Black sound bytes back out of the mainmenu, and they were all truncated to about 15 seconds, despite my making sure that they were all the same length as the original. I is so confuzzled.

I've had some experience with sound modding. I have modded the mainmenu music to one of the music tracks played in the maps successfully.BattleSkarz wrote:@ Eaton

There is probably nothing wrong with your sounds injected, but some music just doesn't play no matter what you do. I would just recommend using the sounds already in the maps, but It is possible to get custom sounds working. It's all a game of chance though because sometimes they don't play, and sometimes they come out really odd. I put a song in I downloaded online and it came out soooooooooo odd.
