Okay so for me the biggest drag of halo modding has always been the..
patching, adding to the main menu, and ftping over the new maps and new mainmenu.
Okay so my new idea is to have a prgram that does this all for us.
1. Would work with serenity patches
2.you tell it where your original maps folder is located, your modded maps folder, and your patches folder.
3.then you give it your xbox's FTP info, and the location of your halo 2 folder on your xbox.
4. now when you get a new map, you just put the patch in the right folder, and tell the program to use this patch.
5.now it takes this patch, and puts it on the new map. patches your mainmenu.map, and FTPs them both to your Xbox.
6. now you just restart and play!
Okay now this project would be HUGE, much harder than it sounds. But i think it could really bring H2 modding back to life.
WE would now have a organized and simple way to get our maps onto our xbox's.
Please leave any critisim you think is nessasary.

If you finish and it works I'll use it, I've had such a thing in development for a while but got bored of it...

I made this back in the day
It sounds pretty similar to what you're describing, although you will need to make a patch for the main menu because this program won't add maps to your mainmenu, but if you supply a patch for it it will patch it. From what I remember, it can get the maps either from the Maps folder inside of the folder that the application is in, or from your D(disk drive) drive on your xbox. So off your halo 2 disk.
