Hello sorry to ask again but...if i buy xsata it syas i will be able to put my hardrives content onto my computer for editing or storing.

xsata
Re: xsata
Yes, you can. You can mod the new maps that you download from Xbox Live, but the old maps can only be modded by burning a new Halo 2 disk and having a firmware flashed Xbox. But I think there is a map converter program that can make the old multiplayer maps load as the new ones. You take the maps off of the hard-drive, mod them in DotHalo or any other program like normal, and inject them back in.mockey wrote:Hello sorry to ask again but...if i buy xsata it syas i will be able to put my hardrives content onto my computer for editing or storing.

you can but you need to rename it to a downloaded map, like Turf, Dune...
Then after you rename it you need to sign it so it does fail to load in game. Use CMR or CMR2 to sign it.

Talk of those programs is prohibited on this site. Please edit your post so it does not contain their names.mr_penguin wrote:you can but you need to rename it to a downloaded map, like Turf, Dune...

Entity can not resign DLC maps the correct way.click16 wrote:or if you have Entity then use the sign button

Hmm... I used Entity to resign my new maps... That's why they didn't load! I thought it was an issue with the scenario... Thanks for telling me that!kibito87 wrote:Talk of those programs is prohibited on this site. That won't work either. This is the final note on the DLC maps because modding them isn't to be discussed here...Eaton wrote:Hmm... I used Entity to resign my new maps... That's why they didn't load! The DLC maps have unique signatures that must be written exactly how they were. They can NOT be changed like any original map off the disc. Renaming the map file will not get it to load. You can rename a DLC map and put it in your maps directory, that will load it. But if you rename an original map and put it into the DLC directory to load, it fail. I'm guessing if you resigned the original maps off the disc with a DLC maps signature and renamed it, then put it back in the DLC folder, it will load.
Now, end of the DLC discussion. I fear I may have went too far already.
Bottom line, you can get the DLC maps off the hardrive using xsata. They must be resigned with their original correct signature to be loaded like normal DLC.
