Uhm, rooster try making your rubber more dull looking, it is way to reflective.

Are they reflecting anything or just whats in the scene? If not, I'd add an hdr or something for the reflections. It looks kinda dull in some parts on the blue.

There is an HDR in it but i only wanted it to be seen on the general curves of it. I'm trying to do translucency on it.

Why would it be translucent? Do you even know what that is or are you throwing words around trying to seem intelligent?

do you even know what translucent means?
I can see what he means it would look good translucent as glass or plastic.

Translucency is when light disperses in an object rather than just passing through, creating a kind of glow effect or foggy appearance of whatever is on the other side . For example if you take a flashlight and put it in your hands facing out with your hand covering the light, the edges of your skin will be reddish. That is translucency and it is seen mostly in organic thin materials. Not metal. Though plastic can do it under the right circumstances and frosted glass could too, it is not something to use when your working with a metal/ceramic material.

Edit: My mistake I do not know whether you were talking about the spartan or the mathe models. I think Dee you want the edges to shine, not translucency. In that case place some white or lights at low angles that would cause it to reflect on the edges of the loops

*sigh* I know what translucency is, I explained it and I also said that I misunderstood. I had first thought you were going to make your spartan translucent, which baffled me.

Why not help others learn what translucency is? Its very useful for things like cloth and skin.

I had explained it if you were to look up, but I guess I will show some examples so I'm not wasting this thread away. I'll post examples of Translucency and Attenuation in this post once I finish.

That is my latest material for the Master Chief. Tell me what you guys think. And trust me I know the material on the weapons suck, I just didn't want to have a dull picture of Master Chief by himself and what not.

Needs more specular, and the detail is too pronounced.

Yeah Doom, said the same thing about the detail is a bit too strong. And the armor needs more of a shine to it. Yeah I have been fiddling with it and I think I got a better material on it now. It will be up shortly.

Try to act your poses out in real life. If you fall or break a bone, you're doing it wrong.

I like it Tru, thing is I think there should be more light so more detail can be shown. And from the looks of it the visor needs work, but I can be wrong since I have seen your past results of the visor and they were good, it could just probably just be the lighting. So I ask may you put an omni somewhere in there, and if you do can you brighten it up a bit.

And LOL to what Veegie wrote.

I'm being serious. It's the exact technique that I used to fix my issue when I would create un-realistic poses.
