VGA and High Definition

Post by kibito87 »

I've been wondering this for awhile but thought it was a stupid question to ask...figured i'd ask anyways to get a firm answer.

Q: Which would be better to use for the xbox360? VGA cable or the stand high definition cords it comes with?

I've read that if you set the vga settings correctly it would be better to use. I'm not completely suave on the differences between VGA and High Definition besides High Def being how many vertical pixels are displayed on the screen. So, I was hoping somebody around here could help with this question. So basically I want to know if getting a VGA cable would benefit more than having the premium standard high def cords...

I have the VGA cord and I hooked it up to my computer moniter. The quality is amazing, but I am not sure if it's better or worse than HDTV quality.

HD is already at 720p...it's a market trick because that would be 1024x720!!! which VGA can easily achieve. VGA can go to 1600x1200 if it feels like it.
...left for good

If Your TV supports the Native Resoulotion on your TV go for the VGA.I'm not saying this for any kind of video quality as much as I am for eliminating almost all if not all HD lag.Which your TV would definitly have at least alittle even running in HD because most TV's don't have an exact match to the signals the x360 outputs to.my 19 inch is 1440x900 VGA doesn't support that.
So I have a very small amount of HD lag.Sucks for Halo even though it lokks amazing. It's still playable but I'd rather play on SD.

No wonder. Last night I hooked up my old xbox to my tv and I have HD cable for it. I set it to 1080i and it was lagging while I navigated the XBMC menu...

So I guess the verdict is, VGA, as long as your tv can handle the output...?
