2 questions: how do i take away muzzle flash, and...

Post by bigshot007 »

Could someone tell me how to remove the gun flash or muzzle flash, because I am making a stealthy sniper for a dark map, and for the second question. How do I move the gun flash to a different spot, like maby if I remodeled the gun to have a longer barrel and the flash is where it normaly is. It looks all wierd. I need help from the experts!!!!

There's no bitmaps relating to sniper muzzle flash.

Why not just null out the [effe] dependency in the weapon tag?
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

go on HHT5 Select a ''[Weap] Weapon''
on the right look for

Ligh - weapons/(Your weapon)/muzzle flash

click on that and on the bottom select (Nulled out)
click swap

save map

and theres no flash now

the muzzle flash (bitmap) is a marker. you need to move a marker which i dont think is possible in pc because hmt doesnt extract the makers.

why are you all overthinking this.. except philly, who has vaguely the right idea. And nulling out the light tag nulls out the light the flash gives off, not the effe itself (or so i think)

open infection and load the sniper weapon tag
null out the light dependency
now, we could null out the firing effect but that means no sound, so we only want to null out part of it. so double click it

now you will see the sound and a bunch of particles
drag to select all the part tags and null them out
that will work

note: look at the parts first, you might not want to null out the shells that pop out
