Well I came home late last night from playing Rockband with some friends and I decided I wanted to get on XBL. So I put my HDD back on and loaded up Rockband. A few songs pass and right when I'm in the middle of a song my screen goes blue and my 360 has red lights on it. So I freak out and attempt to turn it off but the power button isn't working, so I pulled out the power cable. I then turned it on it stayed at the dashboard. I could hear the 360's fans get louder and louder and louder until the same thing happened.
I examined the lights. Only the left side of lights were on. I then did research about the red ring of death and found out I don't have it and that is 3 lights. So I research 2 lights and found it it is due to overheating. So I unplugged the power brick from the 360 and from the other power cable and let it sit for about 2 hours. I came back and plugged everything back in and after about 20 minutes it froze again. So I pulled everything back out and vacumed out all fans and ventilation ports, used compressed air, lifted the 360 vertical, moved it away from all other electronics, plugged the power brick directly into the wall, and made sure everything else was secure. It still fucks up.
So I called M$ and bitched to them. They said it was overheating and that I can send it to them for repairs, but heres the catch: I bought my 360 on the release date and I don't have a warrenty. The new 3 year warrenty and free repairs only covers the red ring of death. So if I send it to them I'll have to wait several days and pay them $100. They told me if I leave it off for 5 hours and come back and it's still broken I need to get it repaired.
Now, I can take apart a PC and put it back together so I have no problems with taking apart a 360 and trying to fix it, well except for if I cant fix it M$ wont take it anymore or if I fuck it up more I'll need to go buy a new console.
TLDR: If you have ever gotten the 2 red lights on your 360, how did you fix it if you did and what should I do? Thanks.
Xbox + 2 Red Quadrents = :(

I think it was a Water Cooling system or something. Might wanna check that out.

Well I took it apart and that thing was obscenely dusty. Like so dusty you couldn't see that the motherboard was green. So I clean it up, checked all the heat sinks, and plugged it in. After booting it I see that the right fan in the back is broken and wont spin, so I bought a replacement part off ebay for like $10. I should get it in about 2 days or so and after I've installed it I'll either edit this message or reply a summary of my success or failure.
