It looks too scuffed to be shiny... or the other way around.
You can't really have a dirty and clean look at the same time... nah meeeen?

Don't use halo 2 cubemaps. Either use the ones from h3 or use an hdr.

I prefer the first one. The second one seems off. The visor seems as if it is missing the bump map.

The second one does a nice job of emulating the multiplayer shader, albeit when it's in a shadow and such, but it's pretty accurate to that setting.

...and you want
support ? You should be teaching us..
Looks really close to ingame. By close I mean I can't really tell the difference without a comparison.

So I made a new material from scratch (disliked the old one). Not much compared to treps, but this is what I've got.
Basically, I need help and suggestions for the whole thing. Right now I'm trying to focus on the armor.

As I said on yayp, it looks great, but what doesn't work with me is the Torso, seems to strong, stands out to much. But other than that love it.
EDIT:
This is just a test of my new material I created. Tell me what needs to be fixed, or if it is any good.

you need to learn new lighting techniques outside of those found in tutorials...standard tutorial HDR lighting is not going to get you the perfect render every time; it's just an introduction to what you could experiment with to get potentially hyper-realistic results.
new material, new pose:

Looks good trep, but I don't know what you mean by tutorials, I haven't followed any tutorials except for the one on rendering the Halo 2 Chief. I have been trying to experiment more with different lightings and what not, haven't really found what I am exactly trying to portray on the chief's armor yet.

Trep could you add me on aim? I sent you a pm a while ago and got no reply. I can't tell when you are on or offline either (on aim), I just go by what leet says. Also, :awesome:.
