THIS MADE IT POPULAR. HOWEVER THERE WAS SOMETHING MUNCHING ON THIS INGREDIENT BELOW THAT WAS PISSED TO ALL HELL WHEN WE STARTED TAKING IT AWAY.

JAMIE'S BOYFRIEND WAS KIDNAPPED BY TAGRUATO, YOU FIND THIS OUT IN JAMIE'S YOUTUBE TESTIMONIES, BECAUSE HE FOUND OUT WHAT THE SLUSHO INGREDIENT DID. HE SENT A PIECE OF IT TELLING HER TO PUT IT IN THE RIGHT HANDS. SHE IS AN IDIOT, SO SHE EATS IT.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT THERE IS TECHNOLOGY THESE DAYS THAT WOULD ALLOW A CAMERA TO TAPE 70-80 MINUTES OF FOOTAGE. ISN'T THAT SOMETHING?!

JUST BECAUSE SHE HAD A SMALL BAR IMPALING HER SHOULDER DOESN'T MEAN SHE IS INCAPABLE OF MOVING HER LEGS!

YOU DON'T KNOW HUDSON, MAYBE HE TAPES WHATEVER THE HELL HE FEELS LIKE TAPING. JUST BECAUSE YOU'D TURN OFF THE CAMERA AT A CERTAIN POINT, OR BE FOCUSING ON SOMETHING ELSE WHILE IT'S ON, DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE THE ALL KNOWING GOD OF HOW PEOPLE SHOULD ACT IN EVERY SITUATION. PEOPLE DO STUPID THINGS ALL THE TIME, HUD OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT THE BRIGHTEST OF THE BUNCH.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, CLOVERFIELD IS DOING WELL. IT HAS ALREADY BROKEN BOX OFFICE RECORDS AND IS CONTINUING TO MAKE MORE MONEY THAN MANY MOVIES WITHIN THE PAST FEW YEARS. SO HATE ALL YOU WANT, OBVIOUSLY THE GENERAL POPULOUS DISAGREES.

That makes sense. I thought maybe the satellite just woke up MGP from hibernation (I read that crashing after consumption a side effect of Slusho!) and pissed it off (extreme irritability is also a side effect). But it would make sense that us digging up it's energy source would make it angry.

Okay...I don't really understand what happened, because the theater I saw it at kept interrupting the movie every 20 minutes or so; can someone give a plot rundown to clarify what I think happened and what actually happened? Also: MGP? Slusho? wtf?

MGP = Mr. Grumpy Pants, the fan adopted/created name of the monster.

Slusho is a fictional drink+company that, in the Alternate Reality Game leading up to the movie, was revealed to be part of the larger corporation NSN mentioned. His post explains their role fairly well.

Put what you know about the plot and we'll go on from there.

So for more information on Slusho..
The Cloverfield incarnation of Slusho! is a subsidary of Tagruato, a fictional Japanese drilling company. Its role may be foreshadowed, if not given away entirely, in the history of the drink on the Slusho! official website. Here it is revealed that Slusho! contains an ingredient "discovered on the deep ocean floor, under amazing pressure and in the most extreme cold."[1]

It is rumored that Slusho played some part in the monster that attacks Manhattan in the movie. In one of the viral-marketing videos (A fake Newscast) it is shown that one of Tagruato's oil rigs collapse, and after, strange debris is seen flying from the sky. It is believed that the drilling disturbed the monster.

I still think it's the satellite. Also if you look at Jamie's blogs, and Rob/Hud/Lilly/Jason/Beth's Myspace pages. Hud brings up that he heard Tagruato is an evil company that own Slusho and they launched a satellite.

99% sure it is. It's been officially stated that MGP has been underwater for a thousand years. I know that the Tagruato satellite did fall at one point, but I forget if they specified when/where. Satellite (or piece of it) is the most believable theory at this point.

I think I get it it now, but it was really confusing when they kept stopping the movie every couple of minutes. I'll probably go see it again just to get a straight viewing.

It was the satellite. There was a news report about it on the internet (ARG). It's down now though.

Yeah, I remember that, but I was saying I didn't know if it specifically said where it fell. But in the event that it did fall in the ocean near Coney Island, then I guess it's as good as confirmed.

G.I.R., I don't remember them stopping the movie every couple of minutes... If you mean the glitchy/flashback thing. That happened only 4 times.
