Actually yes, because you have the choice to be a prep or a jock.Senor_Grunt wrote:Because they were the first to pop into mind. Would it have made a difference if I said preps and jocks instead of Arabs and Mexicans?-DeToX- wrote:..But why randomly bring up Mexicans and Arabs into this?
I don't agree with what the bus driver said, no matter what the look or stereotype of a type of person is.
I dare you to find contrasting goth picture

Some definitions.Ryu wrote:Im done with this. The topic IMO has ran its course.
The bus driver is wrong.
Goth/emo are just labels.
Edit: Im not being sarcastic.[/i]
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=397188Goth- after Punk started too die off in the late 70's, the sound of punk was less angry, more laid back. Listen too the band "Joy Division" They're one of the starters of Goth. The "Goth sound" wasn't accompanied by dark clothing until the band Bauhaus came around. It was kind of a mix between glam rock and punk. Their dark lyrics of death and old horror favorites played a part."
Emo- Emo'z are those teenagers that listened to Backstreet boys, until they became lame. Then they switched over too pop/punk'ish type crap. Stupid emo kids with their crappy music..
"I wish my lawn was emo, so it would cut itself."
IMO. My cousin is a goth. He wears black army combat boots, longsleeve leather jacket (black), black long finger nails (painted black), spikes on wrists. (even during the hot European summer)
I knew a couple of emos. They looked like pissed off punks who wore black all the time, but the main difference, they borrow this style from the Goth without going fulfledged.
Emo = American Toned Down Version of:
Goth = A European Youth (ages 14-mid 20s [or sometimes later]) That listens to hard death metal and (look to my def and others def above).
Also, I should note, I have witnessed more Goths in heavily Catholic places.
IMO, its bad that they were discriminated against, but in all honesty, I just wouldn't talk to them. They want attention.

A definition of Emo would generally be:
Someone who is overly emotional, wears tight pants, cuts their wrists, wears all black, long hair, and non-conforming.
Just listen to that stupid emo kid song.

Kudos charts:
shadowkhas has: 15. DarkShallFall has: 70. ScottyGEE has: 60. Tural has: 25.
I'm pretty sure that this has become another one of the never-seems-to-die goth/emo bashing discussion. Only instead of bashing, it appears that you're "analyzing" them.
And to be honest, where JK is right, Veegie is as well. To be made fun of verbally and probably constantly is what they signed up for when they chose that life-style. However they are people too, and are not below other people. What the bus driver was not only wrong and mean, but it was also illegal.

Fair? How is it fair? If they like a style, they shouldn't be discriminated against.
Even if it had been with the intent of a joke, it should not have been said... Because I doubt they would laugh if he was joking around about the woman on a leash... One can still take offense from a joke, because it is offensive..

That's one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
Honestly, if they choose to act that way they should be ready to deal with the reprecussions. You can't expect that people won't react to the things you do. If you choose to dress or act a certain way, you should be ready to deal with the results, and if you can't then you shouldn't be doing that in the first place. The world isn't fair, it's not a nice place. If you choose to be "unique", you'll be treated uniquely. It's that simple. If they didn't want to be treated like outsiders from society, they shouldn't have dressed like they were. They didn't have to dress that way, they chose to, and in return, the busdriver chose to make an absolutely hilarious comment.

I see this in the long run. Treat everyone nice. Dont judge people oh how they look. Im sure that guy and his "pet" are nice.
I know I said I was done with this. But now I really dont understand what this is about?
Edit: While I think this is funny. If the bus driver had said "We dont allow dogs on the bus". Left it at that and then let them on. I would have laughed so hard. But he didnt. He denied them public transportation. The "goth" guys tax money pays the bus driver. Goes to show hard earned money wasted on stupidity.
YOUR THREE LINES OF TEXT!!!!!!
How is the bus driver supposed to know she likes being a pet? The comment was just plain rude and unfair... He was lucky she liked being a pet and on a leash. What if she didn't like it? I think regardless that comment shouldn't have been made..iGeo wrote:She admits to being a pet, she likes being walked around on a leash... I'd hardly say calling her a dog is going to offend her.
I said I disagree with them not actually being allowed on the bus, but when you choose to act like an animal, you should expect such comments.

Agreed.JK-47 wrote:If they don't like it, they shouldn't call attention onto themselves. The comments come with the looks, get over it.
"I got a bit angry and called him a fascist pig."
Typical comment from that group.

Perhaps by seeing shes being pulled around like a dog on a leash. I can't imagine someone who doesnt like it doing it.-DeToX- wrote:How is the bus driver supposed to know she likes being a pet? Personally I can't stand the whole goth BS. Its all about being different and revolting and what not, yet they all dress and act the same way.... Irony....
Don't be.
