People overreact to much... Sure it sucks but I don't find it shocking... Stuff like this happens all the time, stuff much much worse even. As for crying over it.... wow... what a fun filled happy world you must live in for that to make you cry... For instance the same thing, figuratively speaking, is happening to people as you cry about a few horses, its called Darfur. As the old saying goes, "Life Sucks. Then you die.".
